Free FPP Patterns Round Up

Hello!

In this post you'll find my 7 free FPP patterns along with links to tutorials, and some helpful tips.

Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) lets you create intricate designs with ease and precision by sewing your fabric to paper. Whether you’re brand new to FPP or a seasoned quilter looking for a quick project, my free patterns are here to bring joy and inspiration to your sewing room.

Why Try Foundation Paper Piecing?

FPP is a technique that allows you to achieve perfect points and crisp details, even with complex designs. It’s a fun and satisfying way to bring new creativity to your sewing room. What I love most about FPP is how approachable it is—you can tackle a small block in an afternoon, making it perfect for busy schedules or those precious nap-time sewing moments.

Tips for Success

If you’re new to FPP, don’t worry! Here are a few tips to make your experience enjoyable:

  • Start Small: Begin with a simple pattern like the small heart block or flying geese block. These designs are quick and satisfying to complete.

  • Use a Short Stitch Length: Set your sewing machine to a shorter stitch length (about 1.5–2.0) to make removing the paper easier.

  • Follow the Lines: The beauty of FPP lies in its precision. Simply sew along the printed lines for perfect results every time.

  • Have Fun with Fabric: FPP is a great way to use up scraps or showcase your favorite prints.
